So let me say I don't know exactly what I broke I just know I have high confidence it will cost an arm and a leg! After addressing some minor exhaust issues and engine conditions related to having the engine out to put cam and heads on, I decided to take my TR to get it washed. Going up my rural road I got on it hard a few times and she seemed real strong. I reached the highway overpass that I do hard take offs on (concrete) stopped brake boosted about 6 lbs. and let off brake. lots of noise but none of the side to side fishtail usually evident on the street tires. she took off nice but I thought it was just roasting the skins. No Smoke though. anyway rest of the way to the interstate on ramp ran fine. just an easy drive, felt good getting on interstate and at speed . went about five miles to next exit, reached red light and it died, oh hell . started right up ,then died again, started up then eased onto service road around to a parking area behind a resturant. popped the hood , trans dipstick was up with fluid all over motor and firewall. checked the level, low and added a quart. seemed to be locked in between 2 gears, neutal was up where reverse should be, and no reverse. I eased it around and drove gently home down a back road. seemed ok in drive but I didn't get rowdy with it . I don't like to walk. got home still no reverse fluid level is proper. didn't detect high temp on trans guage. Already scopeing out transmissions. Next I will be researching 9 inch rears I geuss. Really enjoying this car!!!
