I know, I know you guys probably don't want to hear about a ford but here's my questions anyways..

Can you check the stored computer codes on a 1997 Ford Crown Vic. like you can check them on a Buick by using a paperclip on the ALDL???? Now I know that the computer on this car is the OBDII system.

I don't want to spend $50.00 an hour at the dealer and have them tell me its one of the four oxygen sensors!!:D

No, because it's a 97 it'll have an OBDII connector. Nothing is simple any more

As Dave said, you need an OBDII scanner.

The nice thing is, at least around here, Pep Boys will scan the code for free. Then say you "have to think about it"

My business partner has done that several times, then calls me to see if I want to fix it.

Sometimes he has Pep Boys do it, they usually aren't bad on pricing....
