Forum issues??

Right now my pC is clicking like crazy as if when you first click on the mouse. Back button doesn't work too well either.

Was also having problems with phone app first and then the site. Happens very frequently with the phone app.

Ive also been having lots of problems. The mobile app could use a software update too.

Its not crashing.. we keep moving it to better servers which requires a little downtime and then DNS to propagate.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I just upgraded the site to its first new version of software in over a year. Welcome to Xenforo 1.1.4

Im rebuilding the search index too if you happen to notice things are a little sluggish.

We moved the board to an even faster server last night. That will make the mobile app a little wonky while DNS catches up. It should be okay today.

I also upgraded the board to the latest version of Xenforo.

Search engine is being updates as I type this. I stopped the index rebuild to upgrade the search interface. Running the rebuild again.

Ah.. well, yea.. I can see that.

Its for the good of the site when we do this.. we keep moving the board to faster and faster servers. Our hosting provider is growing by leaps and bounds and we're actually benefiting from it. We're one of, if not THE biggest boards he hosts so when there is an opportunity to move us to new, better hardware, I take him up on it.

Also, I just upgraded the forum software to the very latest version, which is something that hasnt happened for over a year. The people who make this forum software have been in a huge legal dust up with the company that bought vBulletin. The lawsuit has been settled and its back to business as usual for Xenforo. I expect great things from them in the coming months.

Last but not least, I have upgraded the search engine interface as well and am in the process of rebuilding the index now. It may take several hours for this to happen and its EXTREMELY resource intensive. Ive slowed down the refresh rate to try to make things better for everyone instead of just trying to get it done as quick as possible.

Once the rebuild is done, things should be very quick again.

Yea.. I put in about 100 hours a month trying to keep this place running perfect. Theres a lot that goes in to this place that people never see, which is one of the reasons I get so bent out of shape when people complain. Its a thankless job.

About 1.4 million posts in on the search index rebuild.. thats about half I believe.

It's not the 1.4 mil records, its the keyword indexes that are being built from it folks so that searches will be faster in the future. Thanks for your hard work Jay.
