BUMP for a GREAT PRICE on Turbonetics 66 P-TRIM BB    .... if i needed another i'd take it.

what setup do i need for the pt54? im intrested in moving up from a stock turbo

Its a 10 second turbo with heads, cam, intercooler and a 3000 stall. Its been low tens at over 132mph on another members car. I ran it at 25-27 psi and went 124+mph in the quarter. I bolted it on a friends car 2 years ago that was going 12.20's at 110 mph with the stock turbo and went 11.90 at 114mph on a crappy tune on the first pass after bolting it on. If the car had an adjustable chip i would have got it down to 11.50's easy but was out of fuel that day.

I have a PT-54 on my recently purchased T. It works very nicely, with 55's, I/C, 70mm T/B Champion heads and intake and I plan to take it to the 10's. I know that when the car was built, it went 11.5's with no alky on race gas, and it was breaking up at higher RPMs of 2nd and 3rd gear. That has been resolved, along with Razors alky and some tuning, ot will get into the 10s.

A nice turbo for a moderate build in my opinion. A blow off valve is a very desirable addition to not damage the turbo, but I would think is appreciated for any moderate upgrade...

I ran this one for 6 years at 25 psi. It was one of the first 4 that Precision offered tot he public. It worked flawlessly until i let a friend borrow it and he put some metal through the CHRA. Now it has a new bearing housing and a complete rebuild. I never ran a blow off valve and never developed any thrust problems even at 25 psi. Its been to over 132 mph and 10.30's so its an easy 10 second turbo.

Will the PT54 spool (at least decently? - for street use) w/ a stock D-5 converter??
THX!

No. Its a dog with the stocker. It likes heads, cam, and a 3000 stall. I ran it with stock converter to try it long ago and it spooled slow and the engine was 9.0:1. It would suck on a stock engine with a d5. I spooled it up to 12 psi att he line on the strip with the d5 and it was ok after that but took about 3-4 seconds. It sucked from a stop on the street. AC 3000 non locker turned it into an animal.

yeah, lemme know when you get that check brian. You should probably have it tomorrow I'm guessing
