Me and Guy will be at the tracks on this Friday to do a few test runs for Saturday.

So who's going to be at the shoot-out? I think we got three soo far.

Thanks John

I did not know of a Camaro club in Hawaii. I'ved been checking out the Camaroz28 forms.

So where is the "Hawaii" Buick's club

Spectating

Well, I'll be there Saturday to spectate (assuming the Mrs. doesn't pop out the baby between now and then). I got my sheetmetal intake from CAS, but it didn't come complete. He only sent the intake itself and only with ONE bolt to hold the top onto it. No fuel rails, no regulator, no hardware . I called and he said that stuff got sent out the next day. I have NO idea why it was sent seperate. But if that was the case it should have been here yesterday. I'll see if it arrives today, and if not, I'll call him tomorrow a tad bit more upset. And my tranny/converter should be here either the end of this week or beginning of next week. So although I'm REALLY close to having the car running for the shootout, there is NO way I will have it running. :(

buick club?

Well, for now we have the Hawaii g-body club, and as our membership grows I'm sure there will be different "spin-offs". It is a good way to share information and and stories, tips and tricks, and even share some of those secrets(hint hint). With the current meetings held with the Impala SS club, things seem to work out well (most of the police officers that are part of the club are very helpful to give out advice to those who ask). Last fridays G-body meeting turned out well, about 25 guys with various g-bodies, Derek, Koa showed then went to meet you guys at the races... and a new guy named Roy(white '87 T) came out to see what it was about. lote of cutlasses and montes, and a guy by the name of rob with a very nice 71 monte...restified. cool and clean
roys t was nice, but he parked in the other lot. I;ll work on better location for the next meet, like a shopping center, maybe alamoana? input would be nice...
Rob

I will try to show up to the next g-body meetings and check it out.

But me and the others was thinking on a TR club? Only Turbobuicks.

can!!! I'm in like 5 different clubs. There's the ISSOAH, the G-Body one, Speed Syndcate, SpeedZone and Illicit Lowriders. I have some really close friends in there, friends from hana budda days. Didnt the Monte Carlo guys have a club of their own? I think the oldsmobile guys had their own too? So...CAN!!! Can form a club consisting of TRs and we can comglomerate with other G-bodys. Wasnt there a TR club some time in the early 90s? I remember seeing, every now and then a huge line of bubble hooded Regals cruising through ala moana on Sundays, along with lowriders and huge lifted trucks. oh the memories. :p

As for tracks this saterday? I would most likely go...I doubt I'll make any passes. I'm showing a code 31 on my scanner. I'm trying to locate the culprit that's making my wastegate solenoid set the SES light on. Its never on right after i start the car, and during normal driving, though one time, just driving normal speeds, the SES light came on, hooked the scanner and showd only code 31. It's right after I punch the throttle hard and hitting my max boost at 15psi. what could it be? I had a code 32, I reset the ecu...took out the car again, SES light came on again, hooked the scanner on, and only showed code 31. A member on the board in the Hot-Air section said that 31 is relating to the wastegate solenoid and 32 is the egr solenoid, 31 & 32 relate because they could be using the same ground. since 32 no longer emits, could it be a bad wastegate solenoid? seems logical. I just ordered a new wastegate solenoid from John Pearcy's online store. CRAP...first my rims! Now my engine! I wonder what's next? Blown head gasket? Look out blown head gasket club...here I come!

oops, I forgot that chris was there too, without his back seat! sorry Chris..

good thing i left out the seats when I installed the braces. frickas would've gotten dirty from the tires.

Yup, I was there:D making ass, LOL. Greg (FullMonte88) was there with his white MonteSS too.

used to be Grand National Hawaii

occaisionally there are still some cars wih the lic plate frames still around. they all had the GN hats in the rear windows too. the original Chevelle and Elcamino group came from there too.
I originally suggested we form a g-body club to encompass all of us, as the cars are built on the same chassis, and lots of parts do interchange, as we all know. But there are a lot of internet challenged people out there, and I would like to help them out too. I've done the parts thing for many years, so I knew about interchange long before I had a PC. The club allows people to share info "real time". We dont expect you to come out every month as we all know each of us has lives away from our cars....(ok, most of us) we really want this to be a family-oriented thing, so bring the wife and kids if you want, just to stop by and meet.

Hey Chris if you need a wastegate soliniod I got one you can have. Hope you get you car running good, it will be GREAT if more guys will show it.

hey right on!! is it for the 84/85 TR? The 86/87 had a spongy filter. Hell...I'll try anything to get rid of that code. When are you working the town shop so I can stop by...MUCHAS MAHALOS!!

It should be the same on both cars. I work town tomorrow through friday. I'll bring it with me. Give me a call if you stop buy.

I was thinking of showing up for both days and maybe make a couple passes on friday. I just hope that the head gaskets hold. So far no problems. I dont think that ill enter the shootout though. Oh well, see you guys there.
Derek:cool:

P.S. Hey John, Sorry for the delay, I still got the headgaskets coming in through Schuman although they seem to be real iffy. So i put another order through to Postons and the headgaskets should be in on thursday afternoon. Ill give you a call then.
Sorry,
Derek:cool:
