Fuel gauge gone crazy

I have not driven my car for a while due to a trans leak. I got it in the garage and pulled it to fix the leak and decided to take a look at the fuel gauge that was not working. I notices that when ever I turn the headlights on the gauge shoots all the way up way fast full. Anyone ever seen this before of have any ideas?

Bad ground somewhere on the instrument panel.
