My fuel pump runs continously with the key in the "on" position. I've had the pump hotwired for the past 3-4 years without any problem. The problem started today after I changed from the stock starter solenoid to a remote (F@rd) unit. The engine starts and runs (idles) okay-what have I done wrong??

TIA

Try pulling 4 wire connnector off of the oil press switch. If that doesnt do it, check for the two wires in this pack which cause back up FP voltage for shorting (connecting ) themselves together. Or, is relay stuck on?

Mine does this too on my hybrid setup, and I thought it was because of the way I wired my pump (tapped into the fuse panel). My main question is, why is this even a problem?

Rick,

The problem was at the oil pressure sending unit just like you said. Thanks for your help.

Good deal. Its amazing GM spends money on something like this-a backup circuit for the f pump . And then wont spen d money on something way more important.
