fuel tank digital sending unit and pump

im lookin at this digital fuel sendin unit and pump im about to buy its looks very similiar to the stock one in my car now. all i want is the sendin unit that holds the pump that goes into the tank but when i read the part where he mentions "digital"sendin unit it kinda threw me off and the guy mentions he's only gettin rid of it becuz he's going wit an "analog" sendin unit instead for his GNX digital dash setup so my 2 questions here are wat do i have right now in my ride a digital or analog sending unit? wats the difference and does the sendin unit from and 85 and 86 differ in any way or is it the same thing please any help on this before i buy . thanx
