Hello everyone. This topic I'm sure, has already been discussed, but. Does anyone have issues while putting gas in our cars? I have to pump very slowly, or it kicks off! Is this problem related to the "Vapor Canister and or "Purge Valve Solenoid? The "Vapor line" leaving the canister to the tank is free of restrictions. Some have said the "aftermarket" Spectra fuel tanks with internal baffling, like the "original ones" can be the problem? Thanks in advance...

It's the newer nozzles on the pumps at the stations. You just have to be patient and deal with it.

Hi,

yes, the problem is not on the Spectra Premium or any other after market gas tank or vapor system or some corresponding. There is some curves in the fuel tank fill tube, which prevents the air coming out easy and the filling operation split some gas back. So take it easy to fill your car`s gas tank as Turbo6inKY indicated.

hello peoples: I have no problem filling my stock tank, but I came on to say if U don't already have the stay down plate bracket, get one.
I helps in filling.

I have a spectra tank in my 86 GN and I only encounter the filling issues you mentioned one in a while at certain pumps.

Now my 87 WE4 has a prestine stock tank and it is definitely more difficult to fill.

A good stock tanks baffling/fuel bucket is far superior to the Spectra.

Good morning. Thanks for the feedback. I will just have to learn to be patient when filling up the tank. I just want to drive it. It seems like I work on it more than drive it! That's the price you pay when owning probably one of the finicky/ P.I.T.A. cars ever made! Had a boost leak. Had to get a new/different "exhaust housing" for Brand new Turbo. It did force me to go thru the entire "exhaust system." Headers, downpipe. crossover pipe. Everything is sealed and tight now! No More boost leak. It's building boost again.
