Hey guys, I was referred here from another furom for help with building my 200-4r.

Its goin behind a built 406. I think i got everything down for it to live - with most of the standard upgrades (HD stator and sun shell, billet forward drum, boost valve, servo, 3 fritions in OD pack, etc.)

I want to convert the origanal valve body to full manual but I cant find a kit that has this option. Is it somthing real simple to do or real complex? Is their a kit out their for this?

I also want control over the lockup function so I can lock it up anytime. (I want to be able to lock it up in 3rd because I do alot of city driving and will have around 3200 stall converter, it would be nice so its not slipping all the time. I know theirs lots of options for this, but will it conflict with the manual VB)?

Thats all I can really think of, Im sure Ill run into more problems and questions when Im putting it all together.

Thanks!

thinkin here .. Had one years ago ... maybe "Trans Go" .. others should chime in .. lots of tranny guys in here

Im really lookin for like a shift kit that I can do myself, those aftermarket valve bodies are pricy. Just not sure of a kit. Im pretty sure that the transgo stage 2 one for 200-4rs for ~80 bucks doesnt do it.

it wasn't expensive from what I remember ... BUT you do have to hack up the VB

What would the advantage be using a full manual in a 200-4R? Unless it is reverse pattern i would say absolutely none. If you have a high revving engine i would suggest a CZ valvebody with a few grams removed from the primary weight on the governor. This should net you shifts over 6k at WOT. Running 12v to the TCC solenoid and grounding the circuit anytime in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th will lock the converter. I recommend a GM 700-R4 solenoid.

To eleminate the TV cable(with full manual you dont need the tv right?), the carb is not set up for it, I dont want to be messin with it, and its a "race car" that is driven on the street lol. And im not build on the "best" valve body for performance use. Im also tired of screwing with shift points, just rather have be I do it when I want to get the best times. I would like it reverse pattern.

This will give me what Im looking for? I dont know anything bout it, cant find any info on CPT site.

Id call some of the vendors on here to get more info. You could easily fab or alter a bracket to work with your carb. We run the governor circuit on our heavy 3600lb TR's down to the mid 9's. a high performance vb is not that expensive either.
