I installed KN shorty air cleaner kit & by pass pipe this weekend.

OK the bypass pipe made it sound a little throaty out back.
The KN setup seems to suck more air according to my scan master when the car is moving.

Here is the Problem: after giving the GN a blast & backing off,
from the drivers seat with window open I here this popping
sound from up front. Do any of you guys get this sound when letting off after giving a short blast?

SIDE NOTE Can the charcoal canister be positioned sideways when moved?

Totally normal Steve! All that boosted air has to go somewhere when you close the throttle abruptly so it goes out the air cleaner. Some guys actually like the sound. Just mount the charcoal canister in an upright position on the frame rail.

perfectly normal....now go freak out the ricers parked at the local McDonalds...it scares the hell out of them:D

LOL!

COOL! Thanks scoot for the info. Yea I get the stares from ricers when driving in traffic.. You see them secretly staring at your car.

You can almost tell what they are thinking! Like I am not going to toy with that GN & be made a fool of. he he..

I want to get into the "Charcoal Cannister" a little more here......Exactly what the hell does this thing do?

Secondly, is there an issue with it being mounted Horizontally??

{ATR kit for larger 14" K&N relocates the charcoal cannister on it's side under car}

Blow off valve!
It sounds even cooler and it prolongs turbo life!
