How can I increase my gas mileage on my stocker?

Keep your foot out of the turbo zone.. :D

Or

Get a thumbwheel chip & set it in valet mode.

Or

drive like one of the local CAPS (CAPS) means old farts that do
15mph in a 30 ZONE

Seriously keep it in good tune, change oil, don't accelerate when motor is cold.

Things I've heard (may not be true):

Roll the windows up on the highway and use the A/C.....like my stang your cars have the aerodynamics of a brick wall

Keep your tire pressures at recommended specs

Use the Cruise Controll

Drive passively

On my F150 a K&N and exhaust gave me 3mpg. It all really depends on how you drive it.

I have an F150 5.8L. What kind of air filter did you use, stock replacement or the complete in take deal? Also, what kind of exhaust did you use?

I'm a believer in using synthetic motor oil. I've seen this give a 1-2 mpg increase in a variety of cars. It's more expensive, but the other benefits make it worthwhile for me (reduced engine wear, no turbo coking, longer change interval, etc.). Synthetics may help somewhat in the tranny and diff, too.

Improving aerodynamics also helps. Keep windows up on hwy, remove anything on the car that causes drag, make sure your wipers are retracted. Lowering the car may help (less air getting under the car and causing drag, less of the tires exposed to wind, etc). Remove weight, too. The less weight you're hauling around, the less that motor is working.

Above all, drive smooth and steady and make sure your tires are inflated properly. It usually helps mpg to add a few pounds more pressure than the recommended amount.

use Royal Purple motor oil. And pretend there is an egg under your foot (accelorater foot).

With all above said, I would say my best is with cruise control. Seems the car does a lot better job of staying out of it then I do.

Also, I have vac/boost gauge on my car so I can watch how much I'm getting into it. This is good when I can't use cruise because of traffic and slow people. :) I managed about 24mpg going up to Englishtown... that was doing about 70 or so. When I had to take over for the cruise, I kept a keen eye on that vac gauge.

That damn cruise control can lay into the throttle though if it has to resume from 40 to 70... WHOA... damn thing kicked up 5-6 pounds of boost.

Even though you're stock, you could also invest in a good chip with lean cruise. Make sure your EGR is in good order... good O2 sensor.

Droppping the FR works great on the freeway. When I used to drive my GN to BG I would crank it down and get real good milage (27-28). Just remember to keep your foot out of it.
