I'm looking for a pair of hood shocks for use with a fiberglass hood ... Anyone?

I was thinking that idea as well...maybe someone attending Bowling Green can be on the look out for some...

remembering the 82-84 F-bodies came with glass hoods, i started exploring for that...

post #22 echoes what I was thinking. contact strong arm and/or mighty lift with the physical dimensions of the lift support rod (hood shock) open and closed and ask what they have for fiberglass hoods.

saw this on ebay for F-bodies but dont remember open/closed lengths of our hood shocks. dimensions at bottom of listing...

Cervini's is always bringing a trailer load or two of fiberglass hoods to the local auto swap meets...camaro, mustang, mopar...hood shocks made for all of them. just need O/C lengths...there has to be something from strong arm and mighty lift.

years ago, for my STEEL hood, I bought Mighty Lift part # E 95055 from Auto Zone. same blue sticker as the ACDelco's, only $30 for the pair rather than $30 each. so I'd start with Mighty Lift phone call.

My experience was much different. Did not work for me. And I have had access to many worn out factory pieces.

I have heard of guys using ones for a 81-82 camero as those hoods were fiberglass or corvette ones might work
