So, my car is getting close to driveable, just a few more things.

It has nothing for gauges. I did however just get a Scan Master so that's taken care of. But what else do I need and where do you put them? I want them to look nice when installed.

Boost
Oil Pressure
Temp
Volts
Fuel Pressure

Is this it or should I be planing on others? Also, which brand? I see prices from really cheap to very pricey, looking for decent?

Anyone have a used matching set?

Thanks,

Rich

You get volts and water temp from Scanmaster - why replicate those with stand-alone gauges?

Oil pressure - why scare yourself?

Fuel Pressure - borrow a FP gauge from your buddy, put it on the fuel rail, set your AFPR, take the gauge back off, give it back to your buddy, and check FP every blue moon.

I recommend an Auto Meter 2-5/8" Boost Gauge, 30 Inches of Mercury Vacuum to 30 PSI. My favorite for appearance, quality and light weight for easy mounting is the Ultra Lite line, but your taste regarding especially appearance may vary.

You can mount your boost gauge in a single A pillar pod, but I prefer AZGN's tach mount for mine - very slick, very secure.

Unless you're strictly a strip car, I wouldn't bother with any other gauges, nor would I mount anything out on the hood, where it can be stolen, drown, is a cop magnet, etc. That is, unless you like to cover your gauges every time you wash your car, it rains, leave a pitbull in your car when it's unattended, etc.

Leave the 15 gauges thing to the Pro Streeters - it's a GN.

Good luck!

Exactly.

Lots of places to put them-lots of opinions on whats needed....

I like to keep tabs on all the engines vitals-hence gauges for everything....keeps me feeling warm and fuzzy to know exactly whats going in under there......all an opinion though, hth, Ryan

Great comments to all. I think, I'll fall somewhere in-between the nothings and have to see everything.

Ryan, I didn't know you could monitor so much stuff, LOL. What all are you monitoring? It does look like a nice clean install. Where did the 4 gauge holder come from? Can I get a better picture?

Looks like your right across the river from me, I'm in Hudson.

Thanks,

Rich

I just dont want people to know what my go fast secret is!!!! Lol J/k, rest assured however that as soon as someone makes em ill find a place for em......

where did you get???

hi just wondering if you could tell me where you got that gauge pod for the four gauges above your radio , heater, etc....thanks for info ...noah.

I've got one of the 4 gauge holders as well.. Bought it from Joe Lubrant a while back. He told me it was an old ATR product.. Might be selling mine soon

Get a powerlogger and a laptop with holder and have every gauge in front of you with the ability to record at the push of a button or when you go over 1/2 throttle. From there all you really need is EGT and trans temp.
