Gen 7 No Communication

Anyone had any luck communicating with the Gen 7 ECU through the USB port using an adaptor. My laptop does not have the proper serial port and my office depot adaptor/converter will not work..

I was told by my tuner that he uses an adapter made by
Belken its the (key span USB adapter.)
I'm going to search for it later today hopefully i get some time.

I purchased an off brand at radioshack and it did not work.
(not the key span)
