I am going to look into getting my car appraised. On general how much can I expect to pay? Also does the amount worth given by the appraiser depreciate annually? Or if an appraiser says my car is worth $10k will it still be worth at least that much in 5-10 years if the car is still the same as it sits now?

BTW I'm doing this in case something ever happens to the car and the insurance company decides to low ball me.

It cost me $149 for an insurance appraisal. I think an appraisal to sell the car was more like $200. I can't answer your other questions.

i had one for my insurance becuase i got a stated value policy or what ever they are called then the insurance company came over and took pics. and then it was agreed at 15k. You should look into gettin one of these type of policies that way you are kinda safe

We paid $425 after our T was stolen to get an "expert" to do ours. It changed the insurance check from $4K to almost $12K. Money well spent.
ALSO...get pics, many pics JUST IN CASE!

I had mine appraised several years ago. I took pics of him doing the appraisal as well. I used Terry Shaw. He's been around forever and knows all about turbo cars. I got the appraisal sent it to my insurance company and they bumped my stated value right up. The nice part is if something happens to the car or gets stolen they pay whatever that appraisal says. No questions asked. Your numbers will change over the years so it's the kinda thing you would need to do every 5-10 years or so. I just watch the value's of the cars and as they go up and you think you have reached the next level call the appraiser back out and have him do it again. I did my TTA just to see where it would come in at. Keep in mind whatever number your car is appraised at don't mean that's what it's worth if you sold it tomorrow. Just gives you what it says it is. An appraised value. Well worth the money IMO. He was doing a package day so I think it cost me $150 bucks.

I also took allot of the information I had on the car with me along with the jacket and stuff like that. I also pointed out all the bad spots on the TTA's. Like the wing cracking, stickers, and stuff like that. Just to make sure he knew what to look for. When we were all done he told me I was the 11th TTA he's done. So you want to make sure the guy doing it is well schooled in turbo Buicks and if not make sure you school him well!

Thanks, I've been calling around but no one around here seems to do car appraisals.

Phillysix would you happen to know how I can get in touch with this Terry Shaw fellow? I googled the name but didn't see any business listed.....???
