jerry, looking good man. i cant wait to see this car in action. do you have any more pictures of the intake? what did bgc do to it?

They gutted the intake. Went down for a visit a few weeks ago and saw the car and some of the toys in the shop. Nice stuff for sure. BTW Jerry, you may be getting the headers soon for testing. I'm waiting for a PM about some parts. Cross your fingers.

not real sure on intake...

I purchased the intake from drew carlton an old hotair guy that was attending A&M univ. He was pushing 11 seconds with his hotair in the late 90's. The intake I am using went 12.0's on his car, but he was running a monster cam on his car at the time. He switched this intake for the v2 I believe. The one that reclocked the turbo and the air went into the front of the intake. Anyways, the BGC I have has bottom side (where all the pipe plugs are) cut open and i believe the inner wall was removed on the bottom level of the intake. They did some mild port work on the runners, unshrouded the injectors, and then did an amazing job of heliarcing the intake back closed. Someone had some serious skills.

Have new pics, but still on camera.

Turbo bracket and turbo are on.
Fuel rail, fuel lines, crank sensor

Ill post them up tomorrow, but gotta work all day will be later.

Thanks for the kind words,

Jerry

jerry, send me some pictures please ( Boost231@hotmail.com) i might need to hit you up to give you some input about intakes that have been ported that way.

I got excited and actually forgot to take pics

I forgot to take pics of the underside of the intake while I had it off. You know something I dont? I was just told that that was what was done to the intake when I purchased it. It made sense to me to see all the trouble someone had gone through.

Anyways more pics of my turbo bracket and egr delete mods. (thanks dad)

The fitting in the intake is the end fitting of an old egr pipe that I had that was tapped out to 1/2" NPT then a plug was installed.

Again thanks for the kind words, more pics to come after more work is done.

Well I didn't get the parts I was hoping on Jerry so it'll take a little longer on the headers. I'll keep you and "dad" informed.

...........Anyways more pics of my turbo bracket and egr delete mods. (thanks dad)

Jerry,
Your dad does some awesome work!
All I can say is "WOW", and belief me, I am not easily impressed.
Looks like tool/die maker quality work.

Does the oil drain tube go in any deeper?

The oil drain is in...

The drain is in about .5" when we put the turbo on we kinda wiggled the turbo and the drain moved in and out of the grommet.

Thanks for the kind words my dad takes pride in his work.

More pics....

Cleaned up the accessory bracket

Update pics of the motor

My dad modified a NPT tee fitting to go into the block. The original fitting is 1/4 pipe male / 1/4 pipe female / 1/4 inverted flare.

The normal tee fitting was too tall and wouldn't clear the block when you would try to screw it in.

Gonna put on the balancer, turbo line (if I get it in mail), pass. side header. Then get the motor ready to prime for oil. Paint the accessory bracket with clear, but then scratch some off for the ground. Lots of fun stuff.

wow its looking good. I will be curious to see how it runs. My dads 85 is setup very similar but with only a port matched intake. He runs a 49, 50# injectors, ATR headers and 2.5" DP, ported heads, what I think is a 208/201 cam, and alky TT chip/87 ignition/MAF. It feels like a good 12.4-5 car on 25 psi. The converter in the car is not quite right but it runs well. Good luck

Motor is ready to prime for oil

Yesterday I finalized the oil feed tees on the side of the motor. I put on the passenger side header (headache) and crossover pipe. Put the harmonic balancer on. Got my stainless turbo feed line on the car. Went with a nonconventional routing on the feed line to get it away from the heat of the exhaust.

By doing away with my egr and using a manual boost controller it really cleans up the drivers side of the motor (nothing on valve cover).

Anyways didn't take pics last night and work all day today so probably more pics tommorrow.

As always good luck with your projects. And have fun with those cars.
