does the engine have to be removed to install a block girdle and how difficult is it to install?

Absolutely has to come out. It is hard to do anything at all to the bottom end in the car! How fast are you running? It is probably just overkill until solidly in the high 10's. To actually bolt it up isn't too bad. The machining of the caps, pan rails, welding, line-bore/hone costs a decent amount. Maybe just do billet caps if you aren't in the 10's.
 
i doubt im in the 13's i just wanted to know how hard it is to put in.:D does the engine have to be pulled for billet main caps to be put in?
 
Pretty much anything in the bottom end it needs pulled:D Yes, the caps have to be line-bored/honed and fitted too! Must come out. You don't need anything until mid 11's down.
