Saw a post regarding the GM Coolant Tabs and not to use them with the heater hoses connected as they will clog the heater core...I'm getting ready to finish a headgasket job on a friends car and want to put some tabs in before start-up...the heater can be bypassed easily enough but was wondering if this was true so anyone have any experience with using the tabs and clogging the heater...

no caddy comes out of the dealer with out a few of them in there.

Nick uses them quite often i would not worry to much scott. i would say not but maybe nick will chime in here. i would not worry however.

I don't like them.

I personally see no need for them unless you own a 4300 caddy engine. Not trying to offend anyone but if the engine is built correctly why would you even use them??None of the engines I have ever assembled needed them.

But as I am always willing to learn someone please educate me on why you would need them.

ic...

well what do they do

or better yet... (so no rude comments) what were they intended for?
