Driving home from hockey last night everything was perfectly fine. get about 5 mins from home car starts sputtering going crazy almost then straight up died.

I coasted around the corner dry steering it into a decent location and inspected.

I cant find anything wrong at all?

it will turn over fine idle perfect for 2 seconds and sputter and die. doesnt puff smoke or anything?

something fuel related but what? any help is greatly appreciated as I am stumped!

Derek

Almost sounds like the fuel pump crapped out on you. You have a fuel pressure gauge?

Check fuel pressure first. Stock mass air? Try unplugging the cam sensor when started and see if it keeps running. Good voltage? Could be fuel pump dying?

started it up this evening moments ago and it fired right up and purrs just as usual...

fuel pressure is at 50ish pounds. stock maf too.

what happened last nightt???? im stumped i dont want to take it out in fear of her dying again.

My stock MAF worked fine until it got heat soaked. I found this out after a new coil pack, ignition module, and new plug wires. All not bad to replace but it ultimately resulted in a new MAF, LT1, and translater. Don't waste your time trying to get a good stock MAF if that's what it ends up being. My stock MAF passed the tap test too.

I would update to the translator and ls1 maf anyway, but it does sound like the control mod, don't buy one from autozone or advance get a AC Delco or a BWD from Oreillys !!!!!!!

Fuel pressure wayyy tooo high. better get a scantool and dial in the motor before you wash down the cylinders and create a lot of preventable grief.

If you had fuel pressure when it died.. then its MAF

did you blow any fuses? if so there is a grey wire on drivers side right behind the alternator. make sure it hasnt grounded out on the headers..

Agreed but I'll bet the fuel pump reading was not while driving. If so then whats your Scantool say? You Do have a Scantool right! ;) ;)
