I know these are getting harder to find..I am looking for a New Hood Pad with the Logo. Don't care if it's the 8 or 9 hole. I know a Member on here was selling these but I can't find his info or remember who it was :(

Any Info Would be Appreciated

I am located in Ohio

Thanks

You can still buy a blank one from your local gm dealer. Then you can have a sign company make a reverse stencil to make your own. It'll be a lot cheaper than finding an original

Good Call! I called local dealer and got the insulator for 180 with tax. I am going to have my local graphics company redo the logo for the new pad.

I have my sign company making me a stencil and also a vinyl sticker. The guy at the sign place claims the vinyl sticker will withstand the heat and he told me that looking at my old hoodpad that it appeared GM was also using a sticker and did Not paint them on. Thoughts?

Ask your sign company if they will be willing to make more of the vinyl stickers so we can call in and order from them.

I won't have any info on it till later this week when they have them done. At that point I'll post some pics up and talk to the guy about it.

hello people; I don't know how GM put it on but I might be interested in a sticker. Venus you could be our test pilot on the deal.
good luck

My sign guy looked at my old Hood Pad, and he said it looked to him like it was a decal GM used Instead of Paint. As I told the sign guy I'm not sure how the new vinyl would hold up to the heat under the hood. My original plan was to have them make me a stencil from my old hood, then use the Richard Clark High Temp silver paint to paint the logo on the new hood since I know that paint can withstand the heat under the hood.

GM part number 25525977

Keep in mind the hood pads now all come BLANK from GM.

hello got it thanks; Back to the decal it adds alot of cool factor IMO and having it is nice but just to have a nice new pad is OK to me. Mine is still OK but it is from 1986 and stuff like that don't last forever. I still have to cut my up pipe because of the new SLIC as it hits the pad a bit but once that is straightened out we'll see.

So just an update to this Thread, I am going tomorrow to pick the decal and the stencil. I will hopefully have some pics up this weekend and more info if the guy at the sign company is up for making more of them.

I'm interested in stencil! Maybe some pics?
Thanks.

I got the decal and the stencil today and will have pics up this weekend sometime. I did talk to sign company and they said they are willing to sell these to you guys. To get the decal in vinyl and the stencil was only 65 dollars. :woot: Which is FAR cheaper then the ebay pads that people are wanting 400-600 dollars for. My thoughts on this are I am going to use the decal first and see how it holds up to the underhood heat. The sign guy told me that he believes the vinyl will hold up but we will see. If the decal does fall off or whatever, I will have the stencil as a backup and use the High Temp Alum Richard Clark Paint which I know will hold against the heat.

I'm interested sounds like a good cheap alternative. I wonder how that rubber spray paint they are selling would hold up under there. I'm curious to the sticking ability of the vinyl.
