These guys on ebay think they will honestly get the money for what they ask? I mean it's ridiculous, 1k for a 8 HOLE hood pad?? 300 for a fender emblem....400 for a antenna.....150 for waste gate hoses.....it goes on and on.....just cracks me up I see the same shit relisted because nobody will pay their overpriced prices. I saw some guy trying to get over 1k for a 84-85 hood pad lol wtf?

The same guy is still trying to sell that NOS exhaust cat back I think the price went up its at $3k. Then I see used horn buttons with after market GN emblems in the middle and they are asking around $110 ?? The biggest thing is people new to any car the first place they look is Ebay.

I have a NOS 250 hole hood pad! Was used for target practice.....I'll take $1,000 for it!!! I'll even include extra holes if needed!!!

i saw 2 vendors at BG with NOS pads and neither were .one was painted on and one was decals added .both were NOS pads still aval from GM but blank pads and modded

Hey Bruce,if you can get 1035 holes in it I'll take it for one of my Limited's!!

don't like it, don't buy it...
if they ever actually want to get rid of the stuff, they will bring the price down to a point where someone will buy it.

Have a feeling as to who they were...they've been discussed before on this board for doing the exact same thing.

LOL yea that's why nobody is buying...WAY over priced......

You can still get them from a GM dealer, only thing is they DO NOT have the logos on them anymore. Usually cost around 200 bucks for one.

$200 for a $2 piece of fiberglass insulation cut to fit the hood of a Regal?

damn..

it's like the guy i met today that told me he has a GNX. He felt it necessary to tell me one just sold at auction for $200k (of course it was a zero mile car, and still in it's plastic, and at an overpriced auction setting.

I paid $100 for an NOS power steering reservoir from Originality Plus on ebay about 4 years ago. I thought that was crazy high. He raised the price to $200 and I doubt he has sold a single one. I still have it in the box. Too pretty to use. :)

The value of something is based on what someone is willing to pay.

If I have a 20 dollar bill and put it on Ebay for 100.. and someone buys it.. whose fault is it?

Ebay is at fault as it allows free listings.. when they do.. it all goes up for sale x5 of what its worth.. if it doesnt sell.. it didn't cost anything but time to list it.. if it sells.. great.. pay ebay their fees and whalla. Then get ready for paypal to get involved when the buyer gets remorse

You would think people would want to sell their items, hence the whole reason you list an item on ebay. And to achieve said sale you would think people would ask for a reasonable price based on historical sales and what other similar items have sold for. I call it the the Sam Walton effect, sell 100 items and make 10 bucks per item quickly, or try to sell one of the items at 100x the cost? That philosophy seemed to work pretty good for him. I think we can all agree a lot of the "ebay pricing" is WAY off what the true market dictates for these cars.

When you have cost in listing something, your motivated to get rid of it as there is "skin in the game" and.. the thought of having to pay for an add again.. ohh boy. My local newspaper to put an add to rent a house for example.. costs 80 per week. You want that sucker rented asap... else have to pay again.. and again.

When it costs nothing to list.. there you have the issue as it can stay on the site forever.. Its a catch 22, but it has flooded ebay with items. All it does is make you narrow your search to private sellers and get away from dealers/stores.
2014 is a way different environment

Ebay only gets paid when something sells so them using that business model is a complete Fail on their part. No wonder they are having issues.
