Hey Guys,
I just got a pair of Scot's new Carbon fiber under hood braces. I was going to grab a pair of the standard bar braces but chose these instead. Wow, they are sooo light and super trick looking. Don't waste your time looking for those factory bars, grab a set of these!!!

Thanks Scot

What do they do exactly?

They are the support braces from the core support to the front fender. Other G-body cars had them from the factory. They were plain black bars. These are much much nicer to look at. I kinda have a carbon fiber theme going with some other items. And...they are super light!!!

Yes I agree they are better looking then the OEM style, I have the original one's though.

Thanks for the kind words Coach and I'm glad you like them! For the others these braces triangulate the core support to the inner fenders and adds more rigidity and in this process we like to keep added weight to a minimum which is why they are Carbon Fiber.

They look great. I wonder about their strength when stretched.. Are the ends crimped only?

That's the cover I was thinking of. It's hard to tell from the picture, Is the cover raised above the radiator core support? If not then it should work fine because the swivel end link thickness raises the carbon rods off the radiator core support by about a 1/4" or so. then they actually "Rise" on an angle a bit over to the inner fender where the "L" bracket goes.

It does sit slightly above the core support, would have to measure it.

These are VERY strong! They have been on my car for some time now without a single issue so far.. The carbon rod has a .80 thousandths wall thickness so the carbon rod is very strong by themselves. I can assure you they will handle anything your car can throw at them, if not send me back the old ones to be inspected and I will replace them Free of charge! How's that?

Just ordered a set Scott to see if they fit. I'll report back when they arrive.

I installed the core support braces and the passenger side bar contacts the battery cover slightly but the bar still bolts in and is secure. I may try to add an extra washer or two later to gain the extra clearance. Hope this helps others who have a battery cover and want to use this style of bracing.

Beautiful product! Folks, remember...carbon fiber conducts electricity really well so be careful around the battery! Treat this material like steel when around electricity. Don't confuse CF with fiberglass (which does NOT conduct electricity).

Scott I can't tell from the pics but do these bars install using existing holes or do you have to drill new holes. Thanks, Kyle.
