It makes me angry that the guy wouldn't give it to buyer of the car. I hate when people do this. It is just greedy.

well its HIS jacket to do anything he wants with it. To me if the guy wanted it when they bought the car it should have been decided then . The GNX I got the jacket did come into play.. I am an easy guy to deal with .. Jacket goes with the car or all this $$$$ is leaving :p

Seriously, it's a jacket.
Go buy yourself the jacket of your choice/color and have a monogram shop embroid the GNX logo and presto, you just saved a thousand bucks.

Obviously it's not about getting a jacket that says GNX on it. Those can be had for $25 on eBay. It's about the patina of the vehicle and documentation that goes alone with it that gives a GNX it's collectability. When you seperate something like the jacket from the car, It devalues the car period. I would be surprised if anyone in the know would say different.

well there have been other jackets on ebay .. Guess they figured they didn't get enuff $$$ for the car so they kept the jacket :p whats the big deal .. Guess this is like TTA owners kits being sold :rolleyes:

Understandable.

Some idiot will purchase it thinking he has 1 of 547 jackets.....

I know of a couple people that paid over $3000.00 back in 2005-2006 for a original GNX jacket. Crazy!!

Pete

How hard would it be to fake the jacket design and the "documentation" papers? Seems pretty easy honestly ---

I'll never usderstand people....$1000 for a ugly by 1987 standards jacket... This is 1,000,000 easier to make a clone pass than the car. Who really inspects the jackets that closely?! I had and sold a GNX and I couldnt tell you a clone from an authentic jacket. Also, when our GNX was sold, the jacket was never mentioned, by either party....and this was on a 500 mile car. Maybe we were the exception where it didnt effect value.

$3000!

Looks like this sold for $3000! Hmmm... I have an extra one that I would take $2000 for.

wonder if it was made by members only

that would be funny, buy it and you find out you've been had. guess there will be some guy driving some POS with a GNX jacket at store and then you run out and see him getting into a pinto or something.

If this goofy sculpture can sell for $104 million, $3,000 for a GNX jacket doesn't sound so outrageous.
