I believe the factory cable works, but the routing is modified. I don't know if you can find via a search, but the board had quite a bit of information on how to install a GNX dash.
The stock cable is two pieces, that looks like part of the equation, unless it is meant to replace both pieces. Sorry, I remember looking when I was going to do a GNX Dash, but I ended up using a GPS speedometer. My memory is fuzzy, so I recommend to keep digging to make sure you get the right parts.
the highwaystars cable is slip on for OE speedometers not for SW/vdo mechanical speedos
search ebay they are listed as VDO speedometer cable , 38" will work if using the factory lower cable

The link above is what I would go with. Just remember on a GNX there is a hole drilled through the A/C duct for the cable to have a straight shot to the back of the speedometer witch you will have to make. Do a search for GNX dash install and you will see what I'm talking about, it uses a piece of white pvc plumbing pipe to make connection under a bathroom sink is all that was used to fill the hole drilled for the cable and have the duct still work witch can be had at home depot or any hardware store.
When I put in a mechanical speedometer I needed to drill a hole in the vent duct behind the instrument panel and epoxy a small piece of PVC pipe in the hole to run the cable through. It was for an AVC Panel. I'll see if I can find the instructions and post.
