Went to the game today, the place was definitely ready to see an original six playoff game. Chicago did their best, especially in the first period but the Wings are just too relentless. Some real cheap shots at the end by the hawks showed lack of class.
Will be nice to get the two wins at home.

What was with all the empty seats? Not many hockey fans left in Detroit?

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a seat in Chicago.

its sold out but here are a couple of excuses as to why seats are or look empty.

1.camera angle
2. seats are red and so is the clothing
3. lot of people up at the same time getting rid of that 3.2% $8 a bottle miller lite.
4. season ticket holders who are at the bar getting drunk
5. got drunk at greek town casino and fell asleep in the people mover then had their pockets picked.
6. first timers who got lost or showed up at last minute and dont know where to park.

heck yes....and I'm a Texas boy originally from New England!

must be one of 4-6, looks like a LOT of empty seats this game too. :D
Hopefully it's not #3, thats what the intermissions are for. ;)

That's because all the Cubs fans bought up season tix to get a frozen trip to Wrigley. Wait until next year, no Cubs fans + dried up bandwagon = United Center circa 2007

I remember at game 7 with colorado when we spanked patrick wahwah to go to cup against carolina, empty seats as well and we were commenting on it although it was sold out.

During any game you can get up, walk out to the halls and its jammed, I dont get it myself, when I would go, I stayed put untill end of every period then sometimes i just stayed put cause everybody jams the aisle at that point. that nasty beer goes right through ya so I would pass on the foam guy walking around pitching it

No Versus down here in Fl...really blows I couldnt watch unless i drove across town to a bar but rained so hard I stayed put

what kind of idiotic reply is that about cubs fans buying tickets? detriot, the best money can buy. they may get us this year, nobody expected the hawks to get this far, unlike the cubs, this team is for real. we WILL have the cup back in chicago!
my daddy tought me two words when it comes to hockey:
DETRIOT SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Unless it is on one of the networks, I have to stay put in town to catch it on VS at the bar. If that isn't possible, I'll have my cell update every 15 seconds.

Easy there killer, We aint never had much to celebrate in this town except 84 Tigers and 3 NBA titles in 22 years.. there is a salary cap in place and has been for some time now so that "best money can buy" no longer applys... plenty of teams got the cup in the past few years without deep wallets but alot of heart.

Detroit has a few players making good money but so does Pitt, Carolina, Boston, Ducks, Stars, Toronto etc

Maybe your daddy should have taught you how to spell Taught instead of bashing any Hockey team let alone an original 6.

I root for the sport, just so happens IM from Mich and my team is the Wings

another dork that has to criticize spelling and yes, your faggy wings DO have the best players money can buy . i can bash any team i like and it just happens to be the wing-a-lings. they have been trying to buy the cup for years they finally got lucky last year, and possibly this year.

Finally got lucky last year? yeah its about time we got the cup after 80 years of defeat.. er forget 02, 98 and 97

K SmartAzz:biggrin: ..lets compare payrolls shall we?... Man its like that Kid the other day telling me his poopstang ran 10.50s at 152.. insted of doing a little research to solidify his BS claim, he just spouted off at the lip about numbers he knew nothing about.

Lets look at Goalie salarys...WOW look at Chicagos two goalies wallets
oh and Projected salarys to finish out the year are as follows......
Over the cap
Chicago Blackhawks 57,687,237/
Detroit Red Wings 57,383,924/

Ahahaah, nice. Can't argue with research!

Sure, we lost tonight but I'm sticking with my original call, Wings in Five.

I said it and I'll stick to it. I've been going to hawks games for the past four years (as long as I've lived here). Up until this season you could pretty much walk up to the United Center box office and buy tickets right up to game time.

This year, the moronic Cubs fans bought up the season tickets so they could get into the Winter Classic. God forbid the Chads and Trixies miss another trip to Wrigley.

SO... what I meant was, next year when there's no Wrigley carrot to attract the north siders the Hawks fan base will dry up again.

yeah 12 and half million for goalies... kinda like putting all their eggs in one basket... I wouldnt float that kinda dough for a backup.

I said early on it was gonna be a hard fought series, Hawks didnt get this far for being chumps, especially after whooping the Canucks like they did.

Over all I think what put a sour taste in mouths was the dream team put together in 02, alot of talent for alot of money for one year and one cup

detroit is the biggest dump in america...worse than compton, worse than east st louie... its really sad its become that but i think they should just fence it in.

as far as hawks vs wings...who cares who has better fans...its all about the cup. i for one as a steeler fan know that most so called steeler fans are drunk retared idiots who are usually blacked out by game time anyway...but we do got the most titles so it dont matter if we have the best fans or not.

Huet in again tonight, eh? Think I'm going to enjoy the game this evening. Might have to take a nap in the parking lot before hand though.
