Going to Duttweiler neck on stock IC...what to expect?

My intercooler is a stocker, and an unmodded one to also add. I met another TR owner at a car show that has an 86 T type. He informed me I should have the IC modded with a Duttweiler neck.

As I seem to understand this helps with spool? What else does it do? What can I expect from this mod? Is it worth the time and $$?

It will spool a little faster. Free up a lb or 2 of boost too.

Thanks. I did some reading on this, seems that perhaps the best advantage is due to free spool it creates less heat? Anyone heard of this?

I did this a long time ago, frees up 2lbs of inlet backpressure.

So, not only does it spool faster, but now the turbo has to work 2psi less to achieve the same total psi so it's pushing less heat. This really helps the small turbo's get back to their efficiency island in the compressor map.
