I was just wondering what you buick guys think of this car for sale by me??

Up for sale is my '87 Grand National. I'm wanting to free up garage space to work on other vehicles; rather than sit outside, the Buick needs to find a new home.

The body has 154,xxx on it; the previous owner had gone through the motor, trans and G80 rear in 2003-04. Upgrades include:

PT52 turbo with 3000 miles on a Limit Engineering rebuild
Powerstroke front mount intercooler
50# injectors
Alcohol injection
Remote oil filter
Hotwired fuel pump
Adjustable fuel pressure
Rear seat bracing
Fiberglass hood
Vacuum brakes
3" DP and 3" single exhaust, cat converter is gutted
TIG'd/gusseted driver's side header
Autometer gauges -- Oil press, vacuum/boost, water temp, trans temp
Line lock
Laptop with DirectScan installed will be included

Driver paint and the AC needs serviced. Front brakes were done in May. Clean carfax report.

Carpet, headliner and front seat covers have been replaced. Rear seat and headrests look to be original, but they're good. Lots more pics are available.

PO told me it went 12.17 at unknown mph. I've never taken it to the track, so I can't confirm. No trades; I'm more interested in garage space than a different vehicle.

If it's all there and it's legit I would say that's a great price. I bought one in FAR worse condition (at the height of the bubble) for $6500. I just had to have the astroroof. Keep us posted.

that bottom picture doesn't help the sale IMHO...
Have you looked at it yet?

I'd consider what your goals are for the car. Show piece, racer, or driver. Then see how much it will take to get it there. I remember a GN in Norwalk years back that looked like a hunk of junk that ran 9.40s. I seen a super nice stocker get beat by a Cobalt SS. I bet the cars would be listed for the same price of sold though. Then you have cars that combine all three like this...

KC, looks good to me. It's just a matter of time to find a buyer. Thought about ebay?

IMO the price is a little high for a GN with bad paint but not extremely high.A good paint job can cost $4-5K.Maybe you could get a good paint job cheaper if you have connections with a good paint shop??
I've bought GNs with bad paint before :frown: so if it were me I would keep looking for one with better paint for a little more $$.

With what all has been done to it even with the paint not top notch I would say thats not a bad deal at all !!!!! You can't build it for that, trust me I KNOW !!! I started off cheap with mine , bought it for 6500, there is now 18,000 IN MY CAR. I would have been way ahead to spent more to start with. Daniel
