well-

a friend recieved a new REBUILT 2004r ART CARR [california]
trans for a graduation present-

right now i have the tranny back up in it, went to plug in the electrical connection, and those idiots put in a 3 prong electrical connection on the trans side-

this is a lockup style trans, and it has the TCC solenoid [2wires]
and the switch closest to the TCC solenoid [1 wire]

now it does NOT have the 2nd switch FARTHEST from the torque convertor, i belive it is the 4th gear lockup pressure switch????

anyway, we cant get ahold of the builder right now, and was wondering if someone could call us at 913 888 4899 and tell me if the trans should work with the 3 wire setup-

this is a non BRF trans, and its sitting in my driveway broken-

i tried calling lonnie d but no answer-

thanks for any input-

Yeah, pretty much anything else other than a BRF core will be missing the 4th pin for the 4th gear switch. The car should run fine for the meantime without it, but the problem is you can't physically plug the connector in unless you drill out the blank spot in the trans side of the connector or splice in a 3 wire plug from another car (which I'd be reluctant to do).

Switching the connector isn't hard but it's hard to find a local shop that has the 4 pin ones (ask me how I know.. )

Good luck!

well, we are getting it straightened out-

starting off in second gear, no OD half the time, and no locking of the convertor-

ART CARR of california is sending out a new valve body to remidy the situation-

time for a dextron shower:D
