I need to paint my WH1 but I don't know what to do. Personally all black looks evil, but 2 tone is kinda rare. Its $850 more to do 2 tone and that ain't cheap on a college guy's budget. The car will never be sold unless its wrecked and I will pump $$$ through this car until the frame splits in half, so selling it as an original car will never happen. What do you guys think???

Keep your WH1 a WH1. ;) They are very rare. '86 is like 463. Last year I didn't even see one at the Nats in Bowling Green.

Well, its your car man, only you can decide. Personally, I think it is cool to have something that is distinctly different than a GN. I would keep it two-tone.

Original would be best, but there was a black and silver Turbo-T in GMHTP with silver bumpers and fillers that was pretty bad azz. Had a red stripe on the break line.

Previous owner put red stripes on my car which I like and the owner before that put the BUICK on the back. Not sure I'm a big fan of the BUICK stickers. I haven't removed them. If I ever repaint it I won't put them back on.

The big Buick stickers are the ones that were on the 82 Grand National...

Anyone know where to get them??? Discontinued a looonnnngggg time ago...I actually like the looks of them...

Keep it a WH1 their pretty rare!

My 85 is a WH1 car and its going to be repainted that way too!

Keep It The Same

I have an 85 t-type wh1. And I have pondered the same exact thing. All black does look good, but the two tone is very rare. I have only ever actually seen 1 other one in my life. Seems like it would be a sin to change the color. If you want all black, buy a gn. If you want a rare car that people will remember seeing. Get a Wh1.

If you paint it all black, that would be lame. Sorry, but you asked. I would paint it the same color and lose the stripes and BUICK. Paint the bumpers black and get the GN interior, black and grey. Lose the hood emblem and take the hood badges off. Then after its done, I think that you would regret asking.:D Just my thoughts.

Do what makes you happy. I personally would paint it two tone. I love black cars. But when you go to a Buick meet that is all you see. Other than different wheels they all look the same. I am thinking about changing the color on my WE4. You can always take it back to original colors later. As long as you don't mess up your door and trunk stickers.

Hey, It's YOUR car. Do what makes YOU happy, not everyone else!

It sounds like the car is pretty rare, but if your going to modify the bejesus out of it, the originality aspect doesn't apply anyway!

If the car is all original now, you may want to keep it that way and find a less rare example to modify. It doesn't sound like you can afford 2 cars right now, so maybe you can try to trade for something closer to what you want and leave the rare car to the collectors. JMO:)

Again, it's your car! Do what makes you happy and enjoy it:D

You could paint it all black, then add the silver part after, if you don't like it. It would be more difficult that way, but all black is very sinister. Come to think of it, go 2 tone so people don't confuse our cars! I already get enough of "Hey, seen you out last night", when the cars been up for weeks. Sad part is, they confuse mine with my buddies GN, and his car is TRASHED. But they both have gauges on the hood, and Champaign is full of idiots. I'm getting my car out tonight, so if you want to see the sorry azz cruise scene here, go to Festival foods after about 9 or 10. Or the lowes parking lot (mostly ricers there, but fun to mess with). I'll have the only GN there, so I'm easy to spot. Call if you wanna see when everyone's going.

After looking at pics of Chad's, my vote is definitely to keep it two-tone. That's every bit as bad as a GN!

Rare-smare....in the end it's just a car but YOUR car. Do with it what you want but don't paint it black. They look great in black but 90% of the TR you see are black...gets a little boring.

I just color changed my WE4, I know the purist will scream but I'm not a purist...I make them better (don't we all)

A mod is a mod...

Do it your way...you'll get more attention.

If I ever get enough money to do it, I'm going to paint my GN like a WH1...I just love that paint scheme...

It needs paint now, but no money for it...

Its your car, but the WH1 paint is pretty cool. Maybe I'll see you around town sometime.
