Good thef prevention (Autolock).

just got my new Autolock pro, I would love to see someone try to steal my car now, I dont think it can be done unless the bring a Tow truck or put a gun to my head, hopefully that will never happen, but this thing is sweet, it has a $5,000 liability coverage on your car if its stolen while the autolock is installed on your car.

hey neil, you can check it out at www.autolock.com i almost made the mistake of buying it from them for $79.00 shipped to my house, i found the same exact thing at ebay for $36.00 shipped to my house in less than a day, same product same company, i got the autolock PRO, looks better and i like the design of the key on top instead of the side the key slot is also bullet proof, it works by locking the brake pedal in place so car becomes undrivable. i will send you a pic of it installed in my car.

sorry to burst your bubble, but theres a thing they sell online now (i cant find it but id show u if i could) that easily breaks the autolock, club, etc.

Its basically a 1/2 hoop of stiff metal, with a rod thru the center and a hook on a pivot.. the hoop holds the outsides while the hook gets twisted and pulls it in towards it and breaks it... it sells for $90.

It like a Game of Cat & Mouse.. You get something to protect your car & WHAM someone makes something to break it off..

I use the auto lock & cuff both but realize that they will only keep the rank ametures away. The true thiefs will alwasy get what they want. It is a Sad fact.

Try to park your TB in places where it would be hard to steal with a truck, cut your wheels, get a pager alarm that goes 1k feet away. You may have a chance to make a run to see who near your car.

haha brake lock.. make that lock the front wheels only and if someone tries to steal your car all they'll do is do a burnout and attract attention!

The autolock doesn't work on our cars like modern cars. It only works on cars that require you to depress the brake pedal to get the car out of gear.

Our cars do not need you to depress the brake to shift into drive.

Yeah you won't have much luck stopping the GN once you steal it but you can drop it into lower gear and use the Ebrake.

In my own personal opinion anything you can have in your car that is visible will make any common thief think twice, the above mention autolockbuster does not work according to the mechanics on of the autolock, it is just a gimick somebody is selling to make money, if i was a thief and saw the autolock on the car i am about to steal i would move on and not bother with it, the thing does work and it installs in just 5 seconds.

Sorry to say... but obviously they are gonna say the auto lock buster doesnt work... They arent marketing it to theives, they are to repo men, etc, I also know that all the tow truck guys carry one around here, and they DO work. Sorry but they are BSing because their product cant back up their claims.

The point is, stuff like the auto lock is gonna stop joy riders, and the average crap theif... The unfortunate problem with GN's is that its to the point that the person whos gonna steal it very likely knows what it is and is stealing it for a reason, and more likely is pretty determined to get it. The bums that would be deterred by an auto lock are the Honda Accord Toyota Camry set....

When My GN got stolen the detectives who handled it told me basically whoever took it very likely was following me for a few days, they stole it from the BACK of my school in broad daylight 5 minutes after I parked it!! I think the only thing that woulda saved me was the steadfast collar, and even then, they probably would have come back another day with a tow truck...

I have an autolock and a steadfast.

Add a pager and it would ALMOST be theft proof. Because, you would know immediately if someone has broken or is trying to tow your car. At that time you can at least identify the tow truck or ???.

Hey in South Africa its ok to kill someone for stealing your car... so they have a system that shoots flames out from under the car to burn them to death!

I saw that show with the flamethrower alarm. They also have one that covers the car with 100k volts of electric current. Combine the two and you'll never have to worry. I've talked to a couple people with lo-jack early warning and it seems like a good idea. I know wakkoss has it on his.
