got my car done, kinda...

Well. After months of work on the GN, I decided to get it done for the Buick nationals, so my buddy and me worked day and night for weeks on this to meet our deadline.

We did a full frame off resto on the car, painted frame, media blasted and painted body, fresh motor, rebuilt trans, new electronics, new weather strip and seals, new suspension, bushings, etc.

We were leaving 8:00 am Thurs morning. Well.... we finally get it done at about 12:30 am Thursday and try to start it up and it wont start, we did a little checking and found the brand new HD oil pump and thrust plate I bought seized and took out the cam, cam sensor, timing chain, and god know what else. So... needless to say the car never made it to the nationals.
Just thought I would share my misery, thanks for listening.

Last year went down Drove 2 days in the misery of torrent down pours pulling the car on a uhaul trailer that had no brakes. Get to check in they will not take my Credit Card. Finally fixed that. Go into town the buick runs out of gas. Got the new combo together seemed to be running good. Tuesday morning. Going to start tunning start off easy. First easy pass on the ET streets for getting used to them, 14 pounds of boost ran 13.58 at like 107 or so. Good I thought. Coming back to the pit area and hear knocka knocka knocka. Rod bearing went south. First day First pass, spent the rest of the week on the trailer. On the way home after leaving early on saturday south of cincinatti, the left rear tire blows sending the burban the car and trailer plus traffice all over the interstate at 70. Finally get to the side, put on old spare and try to find someplace open to get a new tire. Finally made it home about 2:30 Sunday morning and slept until 8:30 monday morning. I know how it feels. This year, Car running good. First day had it running 11.83 at 114.23. Ready to turn it up looking for some 11.50's. Gets ugly, we get back wife gets sick, wife in hospital thrusday. Leave thursday, get stuck in traffice for 4 hours on way back. AC in suburban takes a dump and ran into heavy thunder and rain storms. Arrived about 1:00 friday, got to work at 8:00 spent saturday and sunday sleeping. I feel your pain, I feel your pain.
