What I do is cut a small length of wire off of an old PR spring, straighten the wire and put a small hook on it. I then tack weld the wire to the small weight and grind the tack weld down slightly to end up with as little weight added as possible. The amount of weight added is not noticed in the shift pattern.
It does require a little talent with a tig welder to do a nice, clean job of it.
I've found that you only need to support the spring halfway down through the middle to keep it from blowing out.
both of them look great but the welding is out of my league. either of you do work for other guys cause i have two and id like to get this done to one of them. My trans shifts in 3rd at 5200-5300 WOT and id like that to be about 5800 so I wouldnt mind shaving a little weight too....Bison or Don PM me if you can help me out please
One more thing guys, my trans shifts great when its warmed up but when i pull the car out after being parked for a couple of days it shifts good out of first but the second to third shift hesitates big time. After that first cycle though it shifts and hits hard just like a good trans should. Any input?

Should work fine. For those wondering its a spring retainer from a non BR governor. Usually its flipped around 180 degrees and the heavy weight has a light spring on it unlike the BR that has only a light spring on the secondary weight. As long as the retainer doesnt limit the travel of the weight you are good to go.
Yeah I checked that I compressed the weight and held it up to light and you could see clearence so thats it. Ill make a blast here in the next few days and update if it holds or not but ill cruise and enjoy it for a while just not quite ready to drain the fluid and pull the pan one more time if it doesnt hold.
Is the air on the servo an easy fix or what? Can anyone feel me in? Will it end up hurting the trans?
Oh and Bison, thanks for the offer and the help. I appreciate it everyone
