Grand National Blackout Lights!

Im for the 86 grill!! The horizontal chrome looks badass on an all black car. Put some HRE, Kinesis, or Simmons wheels on it with a 2" drop...Man im getting pumped just thinking about it. Enough typing, im going to the garage to work on Evil for the Nats!

I think I'm going to keep it old school and just put some auto drags on it. I think 15's work on older cars and keep the same feel. I think "low rider" when I see a GN with 18's or 19's on it. That's definitely NOT what I want anyone to think when they look at my car. :tongue:

looks really nice I wanna do the same the tail light covers look cheap and really don't look good how about some pics at night ,I think you need those new led bulbs they are brighter I think. BTW if you're ever in Vacation in Miami you can past by and baptise my Buick it really needs a Godfather !

The stick on covers look like crap on every type of car. I hate them. If you are going to go blacked, this is the ONLY way to do it and make it look clean.

I have a guy locally who runs a paint shop that does them. I'm thinking about helping him set up a site to sell them.

I've had my GN's taillights tinted by Jon's Tinted Tails | Home Page and put some Kirban's dark plexiglass covers on the bumper mounted parking lamps (on which I already had clear lenses...)
here's the result...
I used to have some Lund taillight covers (third, lower picture) but they did not fit that well. I eventually got tired of them and had the lenses tinted instead...

Lower turn signals

Yeah the lower turn signals look good real good Vegas. Can you post a close up of them so we can get an idea as to the technique used. The rears tails look good Toofastforyou blends in nicely with rear bumper looks good without the rubber bumper moulding being painted like on Vegas's ride, the white throws off the look. The fronts are really blacked out ..

I know everyone hates the 86 grill, but I think when you guys see the car done, you will agree that it looks better than the 87 would. I like to think I generally have a good eye for tasteful mods, and I'm committed to the 86 grill on this one.

Subscribing...'86 grille? Gotta see how u pull this one off. The lens look good so far. BTW, what has happened with VWR blue Supra? Haven't heard anything about it lately.

black that bumper strip out!!!

I agree, fix the bumper strip. But don't paint it. The white paint peels of easily. Took less than fiv minutes. I would be very surprised if you pass a legal inspection. Not because of the light output (though, that might be a reason) but because there are no reflectors after painting them. I believe they are required. I would hate to be comming up behind you if you are a little late turning your lights on. Does not appear safe to me.

Can't tell in your pics if you had it done this way or not, but the way to do nightshades is to have a body shop clear coat it when done and color sand/buff it afterwards. I thought about it on my car, have the extra lenses even, but haven't tried it yet.

The buffed out clear coated stuff looks fantastic when done correctly.

Had my rears, signal, and third brake light done and they look great. The turn around was 3 days.
