What can I use to clear the chirping and tapping sound from my speedometer . I followed the instructions on gnttype on greasing it but I use lithium grease . I can't find the grease in the instructions at gm dealer ( some clear speedometer grease ) . GM guy told me to use graphite grease ? I think autoparts carry it but they said it's kinda powdery ? Is this right )

I very carfully used the white lithium grease years ago and it worked. Be sure to keep the spray down the throat of the cable housing. If it gets too close to the speedo I heard it could spit the grease back into the dash/ speedo lense. good luck.

Sure its not the front hood bumper thats dry? That can sound like its coming from inside your dash.

Do NOT lube the last 12" of your cable that connects to the speedometer. This keeps the grease from being slung into your speedometer. The rest, use white lithium grease. Worked for me.
