As usual it was a fun time at BG this year!! Weather sure ruined the racing, but the commradere(sic) was great as usual!!
Able to say hi and shake hands with a bunch of old friends and internet buddies, and put faces to names.
Was able to say hi to my old buddies Jack Cotton and John Gallina, sorry ya'll didn't get to make some competition runs! :frown:
Wasn't able to track down Shane G., Jay C., Bob Bailey and a bunch of others:frown: . Really wanted to say hi to you guys!!
Myself, my financial advisor (boss) TurboKathy, my Daughter (Turbmichelle), and Son-in-law (GNX405) had a great Fri night supper at Double Dog!! (what a great selection of brewsky's btw)
This was Kathy's first trip to the Nats, and was horrified watching OC's wreck, but was so relieved to hear he was OK. I had a tough time trying to explain to her how those certified chassis' are able to do such a good job of protecting the driver. KUDO's to OC's son for a great job building a good cage!!
I still really feel fortunate just getting to this years nats, what with being unemployed and all.
John(GNX405) was FINALLY able to put the final "checkmark" on the sheet of his 8 year frame off restoration of GNX-405, by getting it into the show Fri, and capturing 2nd place. We're speculating that it might have been the interior that could have take a point or two off. The interior still had some original equipment (steering wheel, door panels) in it. Still looked good for a 100,000 mile car though!! Congrats John, now, on to the next project. Gotta get "Mable" (Turbomichelle's 87 T) up and going!!
I think next year we'll get brave and drive Kathy's pristine 87 to the nats! Keeping our fingers crossed!
Scot, you snuck out early!?
Fun times were had by all!!
