GSCA Bashing

Hello all,

Dave Burns here. Some of yall know me, some don't. Anways. I am here to address all this bashing that has been going on between groups within the Buick community. I placed a post on the GSCA board stating my dislike for all this and it was "wished" that I post a paragraph of one of my posts everywhere. SO if I may,,,,,,,, I would like to do just that. The following is that post....

No matter who the persons are that start it. Just seems like a complete and total waste of time to me. Can't we find anything else to do ? I mean really. The time frame that is our lives is awfully short in the grand scheme of things in my opinion. I am damn neart' 40 years old, family history tells me I have lived 2/3 of my life, and I got ALOT left that I want to do. NONE of which includes rambling around on messages boards TRYING to start issues. ""


What the "meat" of that post is, everywhere we go it seems, someone has a problem with someone else for whatever reason. Are we as adults to immature to let this crap go?? Sure, we have the option to dislike things, or the actions of others. But to stew on it to the point that it comes to personal attacks publically is juvenile at best. If you don't like the GSCA or the way Richard runs it, then don't join, and don't go to BG. That is your right !! If you don't like the BPG then fine, don't join them, and don't go to Salem either. But, for those of us that don't worry or care about your petty issues, leave us the hell alone. Relentless badgering and badmouthing proves nothing to anyone. Is that not hard to figure out ???

Where I come from, if you have a problem with someone you take it outside, and solve said problem. Granted in the computer world we don't have that luxury. But the last time I checked all these boards required an email addy, so use a damn email. And they all have private message options, use that. Why can't you take your issues offboard and solve them ?? Even if it comes to the point that they don't get solved, and you hate someone else forever. Are we as humans soooooooo insecure that we have to post all this crap up in the hopes that someone..................anyone.............will jump onboard to "back you up" ? And God FORBID if someone else posts and agrees with you, cause' then you have some validation and IT'S ON then. PUHHHHHHLEEEEEZZZZZ .

Have I come here defending the GSCA ? Maybe a little !! Does that mean I agree/disagree with the opinions of others in the recent confrontations ? Hell NO ! I have come simply stating that I am repulsed by this **** happening within the Buick community PERIOD ! It is stupid. And it seems that as soon as 2 factions that have had a disagreement, actually come to an agreement to stop, there is always another "Hero" to jump in and start bashing someone else. When does it stop ? Literally, WHEN DOES IT STOP ???? This guy is a liar, no that other guy is a liar, well he did this, no I didn't................OOOOOPS sorry I was listening to my 8 year old argue with his 7 year old buddy there and just typed their conversation.

In closing,

Over what I would guess to be approx. a year, I have LOST more respect for people I have never met in the Buick world than throughout my lifetime. All because of senseless bashings that have happened on these message boards. People I have never seen, talked too, or met at all, ever. And I would venture to guess that I am not alone on this. How can this be ? It takes 2 to fight, we all know that. Take it outside !!!!! Settle it ! And move on. If you don't like one group then fine, get over it and enjoy your life without coming on a message board and relentlessly ramming it down our throats to the point we don't like person "X" for doing it.

Well guys (and gals) Im here too. Ifor one was getting tired of all the he said she said stuff and just unloaded on the GSCA board and its admin. First for those who dont know me I am a buick guy since 1977 when I got my GS. I still have the very same car I race. I make some repro patrs for the 68-72 GS's too. see them at www.mrbuick.com . Aaaaanyway I have been around in the GSCA as a PAID member since 1981 and I have seen all the crap go on for years. I have also been at every GSCA NAts since 1983 20 years worth!!! And For the last several monthes all I see is a bunch of people bash each other, the club. the BPG. and make all the buick guys look like JACK ASS's I for one am tired of it. I dont give a rats ASS what you think of me or anyone else including Ron Rich or Red. I really have no intentions on making too many friends over this I just want it stopped also. Dave is a VERY good friend of mine here and we talk ALOT. (our wives wish we would slow down the long distance bill is killer) One thing is that we are both old school and all this crying whinin Baby name calling key board diarea has got to stop! Here is the opening post from me starting to get mad at the GSCA ADMIN.

I am really sick of the **** talkin on everyone from everyone about everyone!@!!!! I dont know any of the participants in all this but it needs to stop!! What are we 11 or what!!!!??? Settle down hummmmmmmmm You guys need to stop coping the other boards to here. You are doing nothing more than keeping the **** going. Its crap like this that makes me reconcider who I send my money too each year. I have been a PAID member here in the GSCA since 1981 and if you guys are what represent the GSCA I think its time to reconcider if I need to be a part of it. You guys.... noone from the turbo boards is posting here making the GSCA look like a bunch of JACK ASS's you are doing enough damage that they dont need too. I am so sick of the overlap on the boards of it, I decided to speak out. And for the record over a dozen emails since 6pm have been sent to me saying that I am right and they wish they had the onions to say the same things!!! I feel its time to put up or shut up. We are adults if the other boards want that kind of BS let them have it I dont want to see it overlap here. If you didnt have you head up your all asses you'd see that all this **** does is piss people off. Look at me Im not on ANY turbo boards and Im pissed !! I have alot to say here because I feel I earned the right too. If you dont think so too bad. I still have the same buick I had since 1977, and if you dont think I have the HOBBY in my best interest you sir(s) are dead wrong!!

You are only enableing them to continue. You are giving them the fuel to continue. Your own key board diarea right back at them fuels their hatered towards the GSCA. I think (as a businessman) here when I say this, continuing to banter back and forth with these select few only encourages them to keep up the BS. That cant be good for the club. I can see why they do it, Im on the outside looking in and you wont never see what damage this is doing to the club. Even if you think you are helping, your not. I havent changed my position and I have 4 more emails stating that others feel the same way. Its time to stop. Your emotions to the BS have clouded your common sence. So what if people dont like Richard, Im sure I am making no friends here with my BS either. I will make new friends. So you think a couple 3 guys are big and bad enough to take down the GSCA?? Are you that shallow?? The GSCA is way bigger than that. Your continued cut and paste jobs show that WE the GSCA are not. Its embarrasing that you give them the motive to continue, Im embarassed to be apart of the GSCA over it. Its time to stop.step away from the keyboard. get something else to do.

And frankly if these guys are punks as you say they will discredit themselves on their own without any help from you. UNLESS they have validity in what they say

Now as you can see I dont care about the BS I dont care about if anyone hates Bennett or Ron or Rich Lassiter. You dont need to constantly keep a verbal war going. Its Embarrassing~!!! All you do is add fuel to a fire. That is more immature than anything I have to do with my 11 year old. Are you just wanting attention or what??? Do wish this **** to continue ?? or shouldnt an ADULT take the high road and not be continuing the BS on every board in the BUICK world????

I have been a paid member of the GSCA since 1981 and to this date I dont think I have seen the GS NAts run better than it was this year...... I am hearing all over the place that Bowling green is going to be a ghost town next year because a selct few in the GSCA have gone out of their way to smear **** all over the place. (Not to mention the half of the people cant stand bennett) Its time to stop being a bunch of babies. Its time to start acting like we are "going fast with class" because all I see is we are "going nowhere looking like an ass" Now stop the BULL****! Its in your all control if not I would find out who is in control and have them here to get it in control.

I believe if a guy has a problem with the "other" guy you take care of the issue one on one,,not on an internet board

Again, a list of the names of the "individuals" that want me to stop my crap would be helpful and enable a better and more accurate response to these questions.

Let see the names of all who are interested in this issue. Im tired of him ducking over this. And are you a GSCA Member or not please include your number as he has told me this..........

I'm willing to bet a ton, that the vast majority of the "everyones" and "everybodys" you continue to refer two are comprised of these very few NON-MEMBERS. Several of them have already been spotlighted here via the "cut and paste" method.

If you look back read the several sincere and direct offers I have made here to stop all the crap, you might realize that I'm as interested to a settlement and cease, probably even more than they do. But I can be wrong.

It seems to me that the same heat, that the "bashers" have been using for years , has been now turned up on the "bashers" and they don't like it. Just my opinion.
I will always stand on the "carpet" regardless of me being right or wrong. I like it there.

This is the challenge to the turbo guys.. He is trying to redirect the bashing back to you guys and so taking the heat from me (and Dave) off of him. I want here the list of names with the reasons/complaints (not including name calling just facts) with/ about him.

I want also this to be a semi calm discussion. I am not going to be anything but a dick to anyone who wants to go anywhere but to the positive side of this. I want this to be over and so we can return to the BUICK conversations instead of the posts about BS.

I have sat back for over a year watching this crap and since Ive been a GSCA memeber since 1981 I feel its my RIGHT to slow this crap to a crawl and hopefully get to a swift conclusion of all the BS. We can can see that all the posts and emails are all directed to RON and are about him. He wants proof and so does the rest of the Buick world. Ive made my desicion already now he wants proof. So here is YOUR opportunity to speak out freely. I will post ALL of it to the GSCA board cause I aint sceed!!

I have been hearing the same crap for years. Was a paid "member" for several years. Got a lot of info for a newbie. After a few years it seemed it was more of a rehash. Then the web exploded. But the last straw for me was when Richard made comments about other peoples cars at shows(pout babies over dents etc)and a comment about a fellow (local?)always telling him "when I get my GTO fixed up". I found the comment insulting as a GTO owner myself. My dad bought it for me 1n 1980 when I was 13. Very nice then but in dire need of a resto now. Everyone has a different situation and I will get to my Goat in time. I have a wife and 2 kids and a very nice house and a good job. But my family takes front seat to my car.
I have saw Richards at Tech Trans in years past and it was a nice azz orig looking GS. I have met several people that are members still in the GSCA that are great fellows and some that are pricks. But you can take the same amount of Buick guys that are non-members and the same % will be pricks.
Do the same thing with Mustang owners and guess what?(I drive a 91GT every day)
It is not the GSCA it's just a bunch of crap I and a lot of others are tired of hearing. I don't have a prob with members/non-members,but I just try to avoid a-holes(and ricers!)

Do you tire of having members in the PV forum rail on you, so you post in the lounge and add no substance to a subject that you obviously know nothing about . IMHO you need to stay in PV and let contributing members of the Buick community hash out their differences.

To the rest,
this board really has no public issues with the GSCA, nor has it engaged in banter to that effect. Don't believe me, search GSCA for a year period. You'll find one issue (other than this one) in 7 pages of post. I didn't search earlier than a year, because the most public issues surrounding GSCA are now and less than a month old on other TR boards. I cruise the other boards and I find it disturbing that GSCA's issues have to be argued there (on the other boards and now ours, via this post), yet, cannot seem to resolve its own internal issues on its own board (ie GSCA). This board, like others try to resolve issues within its own confines. Granted, some of our issues arise on other boards, but isn't this like airing your dirty laundry with your neighbor. Can you not address, your issues on your board. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your board (and public affairs), but doesn't it disturb you to have to bring your issues to this board? I know it disturbs me when I cannot resolve a board issue within our own confines. But now that it is in the open, board admin will not censor any post provided the posting rules and guidelines are followed. For the most part, the TR community is a close knit community, sure we have some differences, but I'm willing to bet that is the way it is on most other boards.
Additionally, the owner of this board really could care less about G S C A and its issues. Also this board has no affiliation past or present with GSCA.

This board has nothing to do with the forementioned club. I do not want any association with them and no, Nick had NOTHING to do with this part. I did it. I will own up to it as I do not want anything to do with that mess. They have a message board, want to talk about them, do it to their face on their board. As far as the asterisks, if you guys would not turn it into a free for all to just throw crap around, I might reinstate it. I have said it many times before, we have NO affiliation with them, their rules or their board.
I did what I did to stop the bashing and trash talk. It is simply not needed here as I don't even consider them an entity.
Again, no affiliation whatsoever.
Cartmen, I am sure they would love to hear from you right from the horses mouth so if you have anything to say, go to their board and post it. I do not want them to think I condone or support the opinions of guys on Tb.com to be my or Tb.com's opinion. I just stay out of it, and that is the way I would like it to continue.
