Quick6, going from the Ta61 to the BB61 will not compare in spool up like ditching your stock converter for something like a 3200 PTC etc. Those converters are way lighter and are super tight up top. I wouldn't mess with your power combo, you are kicking some ass with that 61 turbo, move on to the tranny and see some 10's.
Yeah, but the good PTC convertor that works is like 1000.00 from Dusty isnt it? He sells a nonlockup and a single lockup right?
Everycar that runs a aftermarket convertor vs stock i see looses efficiency unless you spend alot of money on the right convertor.
Currently i have 2 vigilante single discs, 2 9/11, 1 9" non lockup JW out of florida.
They seem to work, but none of them put the power down like that stocker does
I dunno I hate to be a negative nancy about it, if i can keep the stock convertor and tranny combo right, then contact neil chance and get a really tight 2700 - 2900 non lockup stall and see what it will do. Then kick myself in the butt when it doesnt mph as well as the D5.
I told myself i would never rebuild a 2004r again, just jump right into a 400 with a tight convertor.
I guess thats why i want to utilize the BB61 with my stock D5 and then when the tranny poops, get a 400 with a PTC or neil chance tight and efficient convertor.
