And was available here all of ONE year (early '90s)...?

That's my guess also but I'm sure the VR4 had a 2 year run (91-92).

It fits all of the criteria except for the 150 mph.

I have two guesses. maserati biturbo (dad has driven one) and 400r 4 door, which afaik was never sold in the states. only 99 were sold period. not sure the biturbo is 4 door though.

Good guess on the Galant, what year was it that they came here, '92?? I forget, but that's a sweet ride. Unfortunately not the one he got though.

Another good guess I wouldn't have though of on the Audi 5000CS. Unfortunately the last year they made that was '88, and it was available at least several years (from early 80s anyway I am pretty sure.)

It's not a Volvo.
It IS European though.
And only available over here 1 year.

1994 Saab Aero based on the CS model it was to become the strongest and fastest Saab ever. The new car was given the name 9000CS Aero but are by most people only called 9000 Aero. The engine was Saabs now well known 2.3L Turbo the effect was on 225hp. ( The smallest effect the was measured on delivered cars was 232hp). The car torque was 350Nm al 1950rpm this increase in power was possible because of a new larger turbo that loaded 1,02 bar.

How about the 95.5 Audi S6? That was a one year only (then) model with a turbo, although they have now revived.

I would have thought maybe the Shelby GLHS or something like that, but it isn't "european".
