I tried to get my 87 GN insured through Hagerty for $20,000 agreed value, and my insurance agent was the one checking into this for me and they said that if it was an 86 they ( Hagerty) would insure it they don't insure 87's because is't not old enough. I told them that there are a bunch on the web that have this insurance with 87's. So then my wife gets on the web site for both company's ( Hagery & Grundy) and the same thing they don't insure 87's they will do 86's though.

So what's the deal is it something I am doing wrong? I just want to get insurance what do I need to do I still want to be able to drive it. TIA

Have had my 87 GN insured thru Hagerty for about the past 5 years or so. 18K value for $375 a year. Never had a problem with them. Do need to up the value on it though.

I have Grundy's with no problems, my premium is between $200-$300 for 13k coverage, I will raise once I renew.

Something is wrong.I have had both my 87 GN and 87 T insured with Hagerty for at least 7 or 8 years. However I did have both of them apparised and insured for a stated value.

I have my Camaro insured through Hagerty, and a couple of years ago I tried to insure my 86 and 87 T with them. They wouldn't insure either one, they said they would only insure Grand Nationals.

I just insured my 87 gn through hagerty. i went online to see if they would accept me and the declined me. then i called them and they accepted me then? me i only pay 385 a year for it valued at 15,000. try calling them it seems to work better

For those of you who have insurance through Hagerty or Grundy, do you drive the cars other than to a show? Are they daily drivers? Anybody ever have a claim against them?

I use Grundy's for $18k value. $220/year and yes I can drive unlimited miles. Only stips are no driving to work, no drivers in-house under 25 and must be in a locked garage. I highly recommend them.

Grundy's on agreed value of 15k cost me $240/year.
Requirements:

You need to be at least 25 yrs old, decent driving record, locked garage, every driver in the house must have their own car for daily transportation, you can't drive it to work/ run errands in it ;) , and you have to have a daily driver that is the same year or newer then the car you are insuring by Grundy. You have to send them exterior pictures of the vehicle your insuring with the application too.

I just turned 25 so I took advantage of Grundy, can't beat it in my opinion. I got my app approved in less then a week, had the insurance card emailed to me too.

You may be trying to Insure it under the wrong category. Try to insure/quote it as either collectible/exotic. Grundy should cover it if you apply for it that way.
I messed around with insuring newer Vettes through Grundy. Only problem My daily driver would need to be newer than the car I'm trying to Insure. Hmmm come to think of it a new truck would be nice

i called for a quote from Grundy recently and the paperwork they sent me said it had to be going to or from a show/ parade, etc...is that right? If so i wouldn't get it.

Wow thanks guy's for the info your great

Lee B. Sorry I thought I was in the lounge, don't know how I screwed that up
GNKID1987, thanks for the info
Mike G thanks man for the info also

Ok guy's here's the deal I finally got it figured out thanks to the help of the guy's above and the rest also. I got a quote from Grundy for $20,000 agreed value for $313 w/0 deductible, But I was wanting Hagerty so I typed in exotic and got a qoute for $565 for a $250 ded.. Now that seem's high from what I have seen on here and other post, I will just have to call them Mon. TIA for all the responses

Hagerty screwed me over. first year: $375, second year: $750. My record did not change. Grundy can't do it yet because i'm not 25, but I'm getting it changed to condon & skelly, $15K agreed for $250!!!!!

I pray that hagerty goes bankrupt. They deserve it.

I wonder if I can get this insurance. I drove the car last year ~2000 miles. Manly back and forth to the track, and to cruise around town in. I never go to work in it and the car never leaves my sight. I would hate to get into a wreck on the way home from the track and insurance not cover it.

Any thoughts?

When getting a quote online from hagerty, in order to get a quote for a car that is less than 20years old, under "modification type" select "exotic," then you can get a quote.

Hagerty considers GN's exotics.

condon & skelly I am using for my antique HDs.Limitations fall under this company as well for use, where its stored etc.Never had to file a claim, price bounces 10 to 20 bucks each way about every other yr.All they want is pictures and agreed value.I set the value and there was no disputes on their side.Im sure an outrageous value wouldve drawn flags.
