Hey y'all,

I have a yahoo account just for all my BS email and things I don't care about. I try to change my password from time to time, but lately I seem to have a problem. My parents have received two emails now from my yahoo account with some sort of 'attachment'.

Now, I know that spammers can spoof your email as an email to someone else, however this is beyond spoofing. There's no way that they would know my parents email address. Unless there is some pure blind luck, and I doubt that.

I know sometimes viruses like to read thru your address book and see who's email is on there and use that to send itself out. But I don't have my parents ON my address book. As a matter of fact, I don't have anyone on my address book.

Has anybody heard of anything or had similar situations?

Go to your address book and enter a ficticious address of aaaaa@aaaa.a.com. That will throw the spam off to a false address and will keep it from going thru your complete address book and using it to spam from. Or at least that is what a computer geek told me and since I have done this I haven't had any trouble with those things happening.
