Mine look a little rough and were painted by previous owner. Can't find new replacements, so I guess they need to be restored.

Has anyone had any experience with this??? Posted this in body/restoration, but that area does not see much traffic.

Thanks

Sure, they'll paint like anything else. How good it looks and how long it lasts has to do with the amount of prep and quality of material you put on it. Easier to leave them bare but someone has already painted yours. You could strip them back to bare and spray vinyl dressing as an alternative. Spraying with vinyl dressing give a good appearance.

I'm cheap, I always use old tranny fluid, really cleans up nice. Just wipe away the excess and presto, cleans up with soap and water. :D

if you want to repaint them, you will most likely want to use a vinyl dye of some sort. i think eastwood sells it. that way it bonds to the plastic more than coat it.

maybe scuff it it good with a scotchbrite pad, then spray it
