Have a easy question about steering wheels

84-87 GN & T's leather wraped in several colors I am very fimilar with.

What I want to know is........

What's the deal with the "other" wheel?

You know..... it looks very similar but it's not leather and has the Buick logo.

Even though the layout is nearly identical, something about it doesn't look quite right.

What model was this off of??? The early 80's Regal T-types???

I guess you're talking about a steering wheel that, from the factory, has not been wrapped in leather. You can take a leather wrapped wheel and rip the leather off and it will still appear as a finished wheel........only no leather padding.

I have seen 'em on later model Buicks.
A friend of mine had an 88 Regal, and he had a wheel just like the leather ones. However, I think they were vinyl wrapped, and had a texture to them. I found a few being sold at a car show once also.

and that's why it look different to me, little thinner & looks a little bigger because no leather.

Early steering wheel

I have the steering you're talking about. It came off a 83 T Type.

I've seen pictures of the interior on a 83 GN, the wheel looks the same. The outside wheel is thinner and made from a soft plastic material. The 3 spokes are aluminum color and the material covers 3/4 of each spoke.

By the way, the one I have is for sale, I got it in a trade. The color is a dark blue.

I had the same wheel on a n/a 1985 Buick Regal - car came with the sport steering wheel (little thinner than a TR wheel, also slightly different material or grain, and different wrapping around each spoke), chrome ralley wheels, buckets, console.

Had the Buick sheild emblem as well.

Very slight difference, but they're pretty easy to pick out if you know what you're looking at.

I seen them too. But this one isn't it. This one covers about 50% of the spoke.

Please go to ebay auctions, type in buick grand national in search box, there is a 82 GN bid # 1843487314, it shows interior with a good picture of this steering wheel.

This is the exact steering wheel, excellent condition, includes horn button, no cuts, no cracks.

I would like to get $125.00 shipped.
