if I go to google, and type in a subject ,i can see at the bottom bar of my cpu is jumping from site to site and ends at google,so then i click on one of the million subjects it found for me and then it takes me here

http://xmlsearch.mygeek--------dont add in the dot com,,dont want to infect anyone else

I had that too -- eventually it cut off all internet access. Download ccleaner, avgfree, and smitfraudfix. Run avgfree and allow it to get the most recent updates. Then, turn off system restore and restart the computer in safe mode. Maybe someone else can jump in here because I didn't bookmark the directions I used to save my computer. My fiancee's computer had to be formatted because the internet was cut off and avg free couldn't update. Good luck!

Had a similar thing happen to one of my computers. Got tired of messing with it, took it to Staples and they fixed and cleaned it for 89 bucks. Did not want to hassle with it so did it the easy way, pay someone to fix it.

"Virtumonde" is a pain in the arse.

Google AVGFREE. Also get Windows Destroyer, malwarebytes and spybot. All Free.

Make sure your Automatic Updates is turned on. And good luck.

nothing helps...

I have tried to download
AVG
Spybot
Malwarebyte
they all stop loading ,saying something about a connect error..

well i am on here arent i ,must have connection:redface:

I have Kaspersky, it don't let you do anything bad.

Internet surfing is like wearing a rubber. :p

IF your CD/DVD still works okay you may have to buy a copy of something at a store, Kaspersky was around $80 usable on 3 computers.

It may not work either if your current programs and operating system is corrupted and the virus can replicate itself on bootup. :frown:

You probably will need a full blown version of the anti-virus software as well some don't fix those kernal replication problems in the free lite versions.

I was given a computer that was too far gone, and had to format C, Kaspersky was added to that and works well, firewall, antivirus, antispam the whole 9 yards.

Just my .02.

Try rebooting in Safe Mode with internet connection to see if you can get on the internet.

I had the same problem with my computer last week, could not boot up on start up. not even in safe mode, I tried everything I could think of. I finally was able to get the computer into systems restore mode, I ended up restoring the whole hard drive like new again! If you have important files and stuff that you want to save back them up before using systems restore or they will be wiped clean in the process.

Have a look at these settings:

Internet explorer/properties/connections-settings/ISP provider settings-properties/ISP properties-networking/Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)-properties/general.

They should both be automatic.
If not,set them to auto and wipe out any "alternate" IP/DNS addy.
