Has anyone ran a T70 and stretch, SL IC? Or is anyone running this setup? I have a BGC 24 row, and I can not get everything to line up...

Apparently the T70 is just so much larger, that its outlet is more towards the driver side of the vehicle, and a little more towards the front. I Initially removed the brace tube that runs from under the engine to the radiator support (on the driver side), because it just wouldn't fit, but I wound up having to RE-install the tube, to get my IC off my stock IC clutch fan:mad:, its tilting back, and the pipe pushed it forward at the bottom. This, in turn pushed everything back towards the passenger side, and I simply CAN NOT get the inlet of the IC to line up with the outlet on the turbo. I also had to rig up some piping and couplers, because (everything being pushed forward) caused my stock up piping to not quite reach the coupler to the TB.....

1.) Does anyone make an up pipe that will fit this setup correctly? Or amy I gonna have to just get a really long coupler?

2.) What do I have to do to get it to line up? I KEEP blowing the coupler off where the turbo and the IC meet, because its being pushed so hard to the passenger side. I've thrown around the idea of heating up the brace pipe and bending it a little bit, but I wanted to see if there was a better idea out there...

Thanks,

-Will

Although I have no experience with your BGC stretch intercooler, I can only imagine that you are having the same issues that some of us have run into when trying to install a huge turbo on a car that has a stock location intercooler.
Here is a recent post that talks about the alignment issues with the Precision Stock Location Intercooler and Precision turbos that have the H compressor cover. (4" inlet, 3" discharge)

Short of cutting up your mounting brackets and or intercooler and running longer hoses, there is no real solution without fabricating.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, thats what I was afraid of :(. I don't care to cut up my IC, I'll actually step down on the turbo size before I do that. I guess I'm gonna try to bend that piece of bracing with a torch and a BFH. If that doesn't work, we're gonna get out the welder and get creative lol...Mine is the same setup, 4"/3", so its the same general problem most likely.

Patrick,

An S cover should work with a stock location right???

It's super uber close.....

Notice the hose with regards to compressor cover discharge and IC inlet neck. It straigtens out the reducer hose.

Don't know how he was doing it, but Orlando was previosuly using the PTE stock location with his 74GTQ...

Few pics I had of this setup~
