Has anyone tried "Caspers Headlight Brightener Harness GN [102063]"? <http://www.casperselectronics.com/store2/product_info.php?products_id=647>

I've seen a few HID kits but none of them look like they are suited for htis application.

Anyone have a tip on how to make night driving a little less exciting?

There are HID kits out there for our cars, I have one. There used to be a few board members selling them but since the forums cracked down on non-paying Vendors putting their goods for sale here, I'm not sure where to get them. For the cost of that brightener hardness I'd just try to find HIDs.

properly aimed stock replacement halogens from Wal Mart are as bright as anyone would ever need.

H4/9003 housings off ebay, a 30 or 40 amp relay, and some 10 gauge wire is all you need.............................

I use the silverstar performance headlights in my car, an improvement over stock bulbs.

Agreed.

I bought one of those a couple of years ago since I burnt out a stock bulb. Went back and changed them all out.

X5 on the Silverstars. They work very well, and it's can get very dark where I live

i just did this about a week ago and im satisfied so far... have not had to drive at night yet though. lenses were $27 or so and HID kit, 6000k h4 bulbs, was $90. They are bright white(there might be a hint of blue), lenses have a nice flat rectangular beam, and pretty easy to install.

Dont even need HID kit to have bright lights.............................. (although Id like to do HID on a TR someday)

Cheeeeep ebay H4/9003 housings, with 9003 60 watt bulbs, 30 amp relay, 10 gauge wire and your done. I dont even hook up the brights in my Regals anymore............. they are not needed........

Just bought the silverstars, and just went out to install them, removed my
low beam and WTF, it is different, has a rubber boot on the back, removed the boot and there is a H4 bulb installed, checked the diff in brightness between the two and the H4 is brighter, so was this H4 and option or is it possible that someone 16 or so yrs. changed those out to H4's, need some info here, thanks. So will be keeping the 4's.

Looks like someone already did the lens upgrade for you. The factory headlight's are a sealed beam type . A factory sealed beam you couldnt replace just the bulb...

Changed out sometime over the years. Look at the lenses for a molded in brand name. May find Cibie or Hella, both which made headlights such as you have.
