Chris I don`t know why you even bothered installing those headers!! I did years ago. They kill HP, and yes that you need an aftermarked DP because they don`t clear well. IMO the stock headers are better than those.
Trust me..Been there and DONE THAT..
Does anyone know a downpipe that will fit?I am trying to return this car Friday to my customer. When he bought the headers he wasnt told about the neccessary changes and it is my responsibility to complete the job.Thanks.
Chris, I ran those headers when I was young and dumb with a downpipe that was made by Eastern Performance. I'm sorry but I don't have the part number or even know if they're still in business. Hooker used to make two different downpipes for their headers. They were Hooker part number 16808 for an external wastegate and 16809 for the stock internal wastegate. Hope this helps at least a little.
In what way does the downpipe not fit? Does it just not swing far enough out to the passenger side fender...or do the bolt holes not line up to the turbo?

I have an old Hooker down pipe, if you need one. And, becasue you are in such a bad situation I only need $3,250 for it.
Actually, the one I have has been hammered on to clear the upper control arm on a lowered car. It will work, though. The Hooker headers are a COMPLETE waste of money, on any car that doesn't make 650+ hp. The down pipe NEEDS an external wastegate and boost controller, too. I really only need $75 for the down pipe and wastegate (Turbonetics Deltagate) It can easily be cut and welded to fix the hammering. If you are going to be working on these cars, time to invest in a MIG and TIG welder. You are lucky to get anything that fits perfect, the first time. PM me if you need the down pipe. I still recommend re-installing the stock headers, though. They work MUCH better on MOST cars.
