Getting ready to pull the headers off to repair cracks.
What gaskets are recommended?
I was looking at the copper and the cometic. Any one use these?

I run Felpro, which you can buy at most auto parts stores. Never had a problem with leaks. I just pulled the driver side header off yesterday, welded a crack between 3 and 5 (again) and then reused the same gasket. No problems. I personally don't like copper gaskets. Tried a set on my Jeep once and they were a waste of money and did not seal.

Oh yea, I also replaced all the header bolts with grade 8 hardware from Home Depot. 9/16th bolt heads are nice. You will have to get a couple different length bolts but worth the time to figure it out in my opinion.

Never used header gaskets on any of my Buicks and never had any leaks. :) Not a small block Chevy.

felpro 1400's, i've been using these for years and love them and they are re useable

Thanks. I did a search but guess I overlooked that post.
Are those percy gaskets the layered aluminum ones? I ran some like that on my sbc with no issues.

Yep. Burn-though proof and reuseable.
