the problem is in the material, mild steel i assume cause if it was anything else they would of said, mild steel does not like to be heat cycled, thats why they crack, and in high performance situations they crack faster, coating the inside with ceramic will help keep the heat off the steel, coatin the outside will just hold it on the steel, thats bad, almost like wrapping a header, which will ruin a mild steel header really fast, but for the price, you can't beat that setup, they should last for 2-3 years in street duty, longer if only a track car, and they are built in a manner that will allow for easy welding, bargin for the price like i said though

I'd have to agree!! Material is utmost important. NEVER EVER use any thing but stainless headers on a turbo system. All the pipes pre turbo should be of stainless.

The backpressures, and exhaust gas temperatures that occur in a turbo application (pre turbo) are phenominal, and will eat mild steel in nothing flat.

For 350 I would buy them:) just buy 3 sets and they should last you about 10 years, and still be cheaper than one off stainless turbo headers:)

I might be worried about the internal coating flaking and blowing into the turbine. Is this a valid concern?

valid concern indeed, depends on the quality of the coating and the prep work, but with my experiance with coatings when they deteriorate the particles are normally really small and pose little threat to the turbine, but if a big flake detaches, could cause some turbine blade leading edge errosion, but still minimal,
