So yesterday i got my header to turbo gasket from RJC in the mail and i decided to install it.I haven't done any kind of work on TR other than give my car a tune up and a few bolt on here and there. It looked easy enough but it took me awhile. For some reason it was alot easier to take the turbo off than but it back on.Things just didn't line up going back on but i finally got it on.

Today i turn the car on and no more exhaust leak so i when for a drive.Got it and before i knew it it had blown the gasket out again. .What gasket are yall using if any?

Also my boost level dropped 2 pounds is that normal since its hot at you know what right now in Texas? Thanks for any help yall can offer.

you can coat both sides of the gastet with cooper gasket sealer, or just use the cooper sealer and skip the gasket all together.

did you check the mating surfaces with a straight edge? maybe one is warped or has some imperfection in it.

I used that RJC gasket without any copper on it and the gasket blew out. One side burned up. The bolts were still tight too. It was on there for about a month. I went back to SCE copper gaskets.

Sounds like the flange is warped. Do you have a belt sander? They work great for making header flanges flat again.

Could be that too. But I did not like the RJC turbo gaskets. I had a copper one on the same car for 10 years and it never leaked. But you may have a warped header like posted above. But I would go with a SCE copper gasket as well. At least that was what I did. Summit/Jegs/Full throttle sell the gasket. SCE sell on ebay too. SCE's Ebay pricing is better than their website.

I have a couple riveria turbo gaskets that i ve used with great sucess-let me know if you want one.

Thanks for the replies. Can somebody give me the part # for the SCE gasket and 49-blues can you PM the price or the part # for the riveria gasket.I am going to check the flange to see if its warped also. Thanks for the info

dont waste your money on gaskets and shipping cuz its a total rip off, just drive to a local auto parts store and buy a tube of copper seal high temp silicone and call it a day

yep +1
and if you really want gaskets,
they also sell those gaskets at the local autoparts store.

Pulling back this old thread. What is the application for that gasket or do you know the part #? I thought at one time I saw it was from a Ford application...
